Museums, heritage, travel, books, tea.
I’m a museum, tea, book, and travel enthusiast, passionate about sharing the awesomeness that can be found within the many museums and galleries that exist everywhere. I truly believe there is a museum or site for everyone, and that history is exciting and relevant. I love to travel, and have a massive bucket list, and one of my main hobbies is photography. Roman art and archaeology are a particular interest, but I love to explore any time period (& the amazing food that a new country has to offer!)
Professionally, I have several years experience working in the museum field in a number of positions including as Curator, Archivist, Programs Assistant, and Interpreter, and have volunteered at several sites as well. I recently earned my MA in Classical Art and Archaeology, and have a BA in Archaeology, BA in Ancient and Medieval History, and qualifications in Collections Management, Museum Studies, and Art History.
I’ve just finished working my way through visiting as many of London’s museums and sites as possible, travelling Scotland, and hiking some of Hadrian’s wall, and have recently(ish) moved back to Calgary. Since being back in Calgary I have been volunteering with several organizations, including as a historic committee member for the Calgary Stampede, as a board member for Calgary Heritage Initiative, and with Doors Open YYC. I have also been working with the Firefighter’s Museum of Calgary.
I’m looking for more opportunities in the museum and heritage field, and would love to hear about any collections, curatorial, exhibitions, or other projects you might need assistance with.
In the meantime, I’m always planning my next travel adventure.
